Rieslings can be dry,
Kate is a kick ass blogger,
the Bighorn State Park in Wyoming might be the best state park you've never heard of, and
the Oregon Coast far exceeds expectations.
We did that fishing/workout thing again this morning. Kate exercised while I went poking around in a stream looking for fish. I actually didn't fish, just enjoyed the temperate rain forest scenery.

We followed directions, |
and reluctantly passed up this spread. It was never really made clear why this was sitting right in front of the door. |
This is Kate's. It was pretty good. |
This was mine. Looks pretty, but they just don't get biscuits and gravy outside of the South. |
The next stretch of the trip started well. Cool bridges and signs...

At Port Orford (Mile 3301) they advertised... |

For the self portrait fans out there. |
Mile 3357- Brookings, Oregon
We really didn't know what to expect from our "Best Western PLUS" in Brookings. We had seen some beautiful spots and cool towns, and we had seen places we would have been pretty reluctant to stay. What we got was AMAZING. Nice, huge, clean room with this view:
From the bed. |
You can see the little balcony. Here's the view from that:

Later, we sat on one of the driftwood logs, had a bottle of wine, and watched the sunset.
And then we went to bed. The crashing of the waves on the beach was so loud, it actually made it difficult to sleep at times. It's a tough life we have.
Tomorrow: Big tree, this way -->
