I am sure you are shocked to learn that we left town before the naked spa opened. We left town so fast we forgot to get gas, coffee or breakfast. We do remember that we want to take the scenic route, so we get back on little, windy route 1.
More beautiful misty scenery |
No whales |
It was slow going on Route 1 because of construction. There were large sections with 2 way traffic and only one lane.
Our motionless view for over 20 minutes |
We decide we can't handle another 20 minute stop in traffic, so we get of the 1 at our next opportunity. Fifteen miles later, we exit and get on Route 116. It was another small windy road- it also had construction. The delays were not as long and frustrating however.
Mile 3770: Russian River Valley
We accidentally happened upon some wineries. We didn't realize, but we were in the Russian River Valley. What luck!
Russian River Valley Grapes |
Graton Ridge Cellars- Our first stop. They had vineyards & tastings |
We made a second stop at another winery, Balletto, and then called it quits on the tastings. Somebody had to drive (and we know since I'm a light weight, it wasn't me!)
Ahhhhhh. In-N-Out Burger lunch. Yum. |
We are just an hour from our destination.
Mile 3813: San Francisco
We actually didn't go to San Francisco. We drive to Berkeley/ El Cerrito to meet our friends Justin and Mitch. They just moved into a beautiful new house.
It's like we are in an episode of something from HGTV- the reveal |
View of San Francisco from our friend's house |
When the guys get back from work, we have take out for dinner... in style.
Candlelight takeout. So classy. |
