We woke up to some very loud chickens outside of Anne's apartment. There was a moment of disorientation, and then, wait, yes, we are in LA. Why are there chickens? And why do I hear a women disciplining the chickens? Yes, she was yelling at the chickens for being too loud.

Anne has already called animal control... the coup will be short lived. This cat was hoping for a snack in the meantime. |
After we fully wake up, we get ready and head to Venice Beach (not the actual beach, but the town). Abbott Kinney Boulevard has blossomed over the last couple years.
We think we see Michael Douglas on the road in a Porshe |

We ate in the garden. The weather was perfect. It's hard to beat LA weather in the fall. |
BLAT sandwich- Bacon (Neuske's), lettuce, avocado and tomato. The put avocado on everything in California and I love it! |
Panzanella salad with burrata! |
With full stomachs, we drive back to Anne's to do a load of laundry. We then went to the actual beach. Again, perfect weather.
I asked James where the beach was. "The beach is that way" |
Hermosa Beach. Cute little houses line the promenade |

Look how empty the beach is. It was 79 degrees and beautiful. |
We head back to Anne's house to refresh and prepare for dinner. Anne takes us to another great place in Manhattan Beach- Simmzy's
My grilled chicken sandwich. Note the avocado |

We end the night with a walk up the pier in Manhattan Beach. We watched the last of the beautiful sunset.
